Welcome!

In early 2002 we decided to "live the dream"........ stop working, and go sail for a few years. When I say we, it was actually " I ", Hiro was yet to be convinced, but that didn't take long...... a few days sailing together and he was sold on the idea.

As I write this (May 2003), we are close to half way through the 3yr countdown we targeted for ourselves.

After months looking for the right boat, in the right location, and at the right price, we have bought in Corpus Christi, Texas, "Maranatha", an Island Trader - Formosa 41 Ketch.

She needs a lot of work, but once complete, we hope she'll be a good home to us for the trip we plan to take starting September 2004.

On this web site, we hope to monitor the refit/restoration of the boat over the next year or so, share our experiences with you, and then ultimately share stories and photo's of the trip itself.

We have also added an "about us" page, giving a bit of background about who we are, why we want to do this, and how our lives have changed preparing to "live the dream".
